2015:

Australia has the 13th largest market of retail consumers – which represents 4.5 per cent of the world’s total retail sales each year. It’s retail industry contributes $23 billion to the nation’s gross domestic product and has one of the most concentrated grocery sectors in the world, Australia’s supermarket industry is the highest contributor to retail turnover, at more than 29 per cent. The Institute conducts a significant number of information and training seminars in that sector.

However, there are many opportunities in the online retail sector, with steady 12 per cent growth per year, as more retailers move from traditional store front models to online retailing.

The Institute conducts a series of events – significantly in the grocery sphere, although also in a broader framework of business activity – designed to challenge, inform and update the sales fraternity about cutting edge issues and developments which impact on day-to-day activity.

In addition to our honorary advisory event sub-committee – members have also often suggested events – including speakers (of value), workshops, informal network gatherings and even occasional luncheons – designed to update knowledge and awareness levels in all areas relating to a better quality of sales practice and outcomes for your company and/or its brands.

Many events feature speakers/presenters who manage day-to-day at the ‘forefront’  in their field – rarely simply book authors

The Institute plans to further increase the ‘conversations’ with members about potential events which will assist to increase and build sharing and exchanges about sales knowledge. While the Institute comprises sales and marketing management, it also wishes to meet the increasing needs of salespeople to enhance their skills and capacity.
